Recommended Android apps:
• Locus Free
• OruxMaps
• BackCountry Navigator

Recommended PC Software

Any chartplotting software that is able to import tracks and waypoints should be able to display a StrikeLines chart.

The programs below have been tested and proven to work. We encourage you to experiment with your own software, however. A good starting point is to attempt to import either the GPX or KML file. Let us know if there is any software you'd like us to add to this list.

  • Google Earth: Free and compatible with KML and GPX files.
  • Reefmaster: Extremely good waypoint management for Lowrance and Humminbird. Feature rich. Includes sonar mapping and side-scan mosaicing for Lowrance and Humminbird hardware. You can make your own StrikeLines-style charts!!
  • ExpertGPS: Excellent GPX editing software. Compatible with many GPS units. Extremely intuitive and simple to use. (Unfortunately, it's not directly compatible with Humminbird.)
  • EasyGPS: Free version of ExpertGPS with reduced functionality. Still very good.
  • Homeport: Very nice software for Garmin owners.
  • Basecamp: Similar to Homeport, also for Garmin.
  • Insight Planner: Lowrance’s entry level GPS software. Ok waypoint management, with excellent nautical chart overlays built in.
